Your Home is Working Overtime To Keep You Comfortable

No matter how efficient your furnace is or if you have solar panels, it won’t matter if your home can’t hold onto that energy.

Heat escaping through a wall because of thermal bridging

Right now, heat is escaping through your walls 24/7, forcing your heating and cooling system to work harder, wear out faster, and drive up your energy bills.

Why? Because of thermal bridging — this is when heat “sneaks out” through solid parts of your home, like wall studs, where there is little to no insulation to stop it.

It’s like trying to keep water in a bucket full of holes—you can patch the holes to stop the problem, or you can keep refilling the bucket forever. The same is true for your home: you can fix the problem at the source by adding insulation, or you can keep overpaying for heating and cooling that just slips away.

And those “holes” in your home add up fast. When you count up all the solid parts of your exterior walls, like the studs and window frames — it turns out that 15-20% of your exterior walls have little to no insulation at all. That’s like leaving a window open year-round.

An Investment That Pays For Itself

Pays for itself over 5-7 years, making it a smart long-term investment that can increase property value

Better Indoor Air Quality

Keeps dust, allergens, and outdoor pollutants from sneaking in, for fresher, healthier inside air.

Faster to Install, Less Material & Labour Costs, Same High Quality.

Exterior insulation has been installed the same way for 50+ years. Building smarter means you don’t need to choose between quality, time to install, or cost – SIS Panels give you all three.

Backed by Building Science

Traditional walls are built using five separate layers to control air, moisture, and heat loss. Each layer has to be installed one at a time, adding unnecessary time, labor, and materials to the project. The more steps there are, the higher the cost and the greater the chance of mistakes that could lead to drafts, energy loss, or moisture issues down the road.

SIS Panels simplify the process by combining several of these layers into one smart product. This means your home can get the same high quality energy-efficient features without extra hassle or cost. It’s a win-win for both you and your contractor.

Let’s take a look at how traditional installation compares to SIS Panels.

Traditional

1) New Sheathing

Your existing sheathing is inspected and any damaged areas are patched with new sheathing as needed. If your home is older, it may have fiberboard sheathing and require a new layer of sheathing.

2) Weather & Air Barrier

A protective layer is added to shield your home from the elements and prevent air leaks

3) Exterior Insulation

This is where the magic happens. A layer of insulation is installed to reduce heat loss, keep your home cozy in the winter, and cool in the summer—24/7, year-round.

4) Furring Strips (Sometimes Required)

Furring strips are thin wooden strips attached over the insulation. They create an air gap  and provide a solid nailing surface for your new siding or stucco.

5) New Siding or Stucco

Your new siding or stucco is carefully installed onto the furring strips, giving your home a fresh, updated look

SIS Panels

Pro tip: if you have stucco that is in good condition, SIS Panels can be installed directly over top of the existing stucco to save further time, labour, and money

1) SIS Panel

SIS Panels replace multiple steps from the traditional method by combining new sheathing, exterior insulation, and a solid nailing surface into one easy-to-install panel.

2) Weather & Air Barrier

A protective layer is added to shield your home from the elements and prevent air leaks

3) New Siding or Stucco

Your new siding or stucco is securely attached to the SIS Panel’s built-in nailing surface, giving your home a fresh, updated look with less material and labour costs.

Why stick with outdated, time-consuming methods when there’s a better way to build? With SIS Panels, you get the same high-quality insulation and protection—without the extra layers, labor, or cost. It’s a smarter, faster, and more efficient way to upgrade your home, whether you’re replacing siding or starting fresh.

Don’t let energy escape through your walls or pay more for unnecessary steps. Make your home stronger, more comfortable, and energy-efficient with SIS Panels.

Less Room for Error

Fewer steps and a more streamlined installation process reduces the margin for error

More Bang For Your Buck

Exterior insulation hasn’t changed in 50+ years – SIS Panels deliver quality, speed, and savings without compromise.

One-Sided Plywood-M SIS Panel

Protect your family and belongings with fire-rated insulation.

Mineral wool is one of the best exterior insulation choices for energy efficiency, fire protection, and sound resistance—but it’s also one of the most labor-intensive to install. With an SIS Panel, you get all the benefits of this premium insulation without the extra steps, making it as easy as 1-2-3 to install just like any other SIS Panel.

For even more fire protection, swap standard plywood for fire-rated plywood.

Stock R-Values
  • R-7 (panel thickness of 1-7/16″)
  • R-9 (panel thickness of 2″)

Need higher R-Values? We offer mineral wool insulation up to 4″ thick to reach R-Values as high as R-17.

N

If any water enters the wall, it can drain through the mineral wool and out the wall with no damage.

N

Mineral wool is inorganic, meaning there are no food sources for mold to grow
