EPS Rigid Insulation Sheets

Tired of long lead times for closed cell expanded polystyrene (EPS) Insulation Sheets?

We work with EPS Insulation daily while manufacturing our exterior insulated sheathing and are all too familiar with challenges of receiving materials in a timely manner to meet project timelines.

Because we work with EPS Insulation in bulk, we can offer EPS sheets at a cost-effective price with a minimal lead time.

Available in standard 4ft x 8ft sheets from 1/2″ to 48″ thickness. Custom sizes are also available.

MGO Sheathing

The Magnesium Oxide (MgO) board used in SIS Panel construction is also available as individual sheathing boards. MgO is fire resistant, water resistant, bugproof, freeze and thaw proof, and impact resistant. The boards also won’t support any mold or mildew. MgO boards come in standard 4′ x 8′, 4′ x 9′, and 4′ x 10′ sheets with thicknesses of ¼” (6 mm) or ½” (12 mm). It can be used as structural sheathing, tile underlayment, fascia, soffits, rot resistant trim, window casings, rainscreen, or fire walls. MgO boards are one of the most versatile and environmentally friendly products in the market.

MgO boards can be easily installed on wooden or metal frames like other sheathing products. It can be cut using circular or reciprocating saws and can be fastened with nails, screws, or staples. The use of galvanized materials is recommended. Traditional finishes and adhesives can be applied directly to MgO sheathing.

Rainscreen Assembly & Strips

Rainscreen is very important in certain areas where there is more moisture and rainfall. Moisture management is being code mandated, thus the use of rainscreen assemblies in wall construction is increasing. SIS Panels Rainscreen Assembly (with battens) is made from MgO Sheathing and compartmentalizes and prevents the lateral spread of a fire. It is an excellent solution for moisture control. Rainscreen strips made from MgO board are also available. Strips are ½” thick, 2 ¾” wide, and 48″ long.

Silent/Floating Floor

SIS Panels Floating Floorboards create a sound damping solution for multi-family homes and offices. The floorboards are manufactured using two MgO boards and a sound damping wood fibre board. The floorboard obtains great STC and IIC values and can be installed on top of the subfloor. Floating floorboards are easy to install and do not need to be fastened to the structure of the home.

Screws and Fasteners

SIS Panels are fastened to wall frames using fasteners / screws.  Depending on the wall frames you are using there are different types of fasteners/screws:

  • Fasteners / screws for LGS frames – 3 ½” and 4 ½” Zinc coated or mechanically coated non rusting, self tapping and self threading. SIS Panels can supply these screws, if required, for use with your construction project.
  • Fasteners / screws for wood frames — 3 ½” and 5″ grabber wood screw for the wood stud framing. SIS Panels can supply these screws, if required, for use with your construction project.

Fire Retardant Mesh

SIS Panels’ Fire Retardant Mesh is manufactured from an expanded graphite, which expands when exposed to fire and heat. The mesh can be used on vents or vented soffits to prevent fires from crossing over. The Fire Retardant Mesh is a powerful solution to prevent fire transfer from home to home, especially through the soffit.

Reinforced Edges

Upon special request, reinforced edges can be installed onto panels to replace the need for liners and add more strength at openings. Reinforced edges are made from stacked 12 mm (1/2″) MgO boards to either fully (100% reinforced) or partial (50% reinforced) cover the foam, which gives more material to secure the fasteners for window and door installation. Reinforced edges can also be used for endwall construction.
