About this Project
Earlier in 2022, we worked with Sterling Homes to build one of their showhomes in the Harmony community located just outside Calgary, Alberta. The project used our One-Sided OSB and One-Sided Fire-Rated OSB Insulated Sheathing (IS) Panels to increase the home’s energy efficiency without any extra installation steps or labour costs.
The project was a success and set in motion plans for more Sterling Homes that use our SIS Panels. Check back soon to read about our second Sterling Home Showhome.
Our goal with SIS Panels is to eliminate as many steps in the exterior envelope as possible, by combining as many steps as possible into one – adding value and saving time. One of the steps that is combined is a layer of continuous exterior insulation. This is notable because continuous exterior insulation eliminates thermal bridging and creates a more energy efficient building. To learn more about how thermal bridging affects many homes today, visit our education page.
Another positive point of feedback we got from Sterling Homes was that they were happy that the Sterling Homes logo was painted on each panel to reduce the potential of job site theft.
